Trump “Negotiations underway with China on tariffs…Expect resolution within 3-4 weeks”

Donald Trump, President of The United States, stated that tariff negotiations with China are ongoing, and visible results are expected soon. At the executive order signing ceremony held at The White House on the 17th (local time), President Trump said, “We are in talks with China. They have contacted us multiple times,” and “I expect that negotiations can be concluded within the next 3 to 4 weeks.”

In response to a question about whether dialogues between the two countries continued after The United States' imposition of reciprocal tariffs, Trump answered, “Of course.” He avoided specific comments on whether he had direct communication with Xi Jinping, President of China, but emphasized that the negotiations are proceeding positively.

This remark is expected to raise expectations for an easing of trade tensions triggered by The United States' recent high tariff policy and provide a certain level of stability to the global market.
