An analysis suggested that if Bitcoin gradually escapes the high correlation with technology stocks and establishes itself as an independent asset, not holding Bitcoin might become a bigger risk. Robbie Michnick, the head of the digital asset division at the world's largest asset management company, BlackRock, said in an interview with DLnews, "If BTC continues to move just like technology stocks, institutions will not have much interest," but "If Bitcoin escapes the extreme risk of decline and establishes itself as a key means of portfolio diversification, institutions will start to think 'it might be more dangerous not to buy'."

He particularly explained that the more BTC shows independent movement, the higher the likelihood it will be incorporated as a core asset group in institutional asset allocation. This suggests that Bitcoin is perceived as a long-term holding value that moves independently of macroeconomic variables, beyond being a mere speculative asset.
