According to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) FedWatch, traders predict a 79.9% likelihood that the U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) will keep the benchmark rate unchanged at the upcoming June Federal Open Market Committee(FOMC) meeting.

The probability of a 0.25% point cut is also calculated at 20.1%, and market participants are leaning towards the view that the Fed will maintain the current rate level rather than move towards a rate cut for the time being.

Experts predict that the Fed will make a cautious decision, watching continuous inflation pressures and economic slowdown risks, and that the announcement at the June FOMC meeting will be a key watershed in determining future economic directionality.
