The U.S. Congress is increasingly likely to put to a vote a significant bill that will establish regulatory standards for the stablecoin market. Eleanor Terrett, host of the cryptocurrency program 'Crypto In America', reported that the stablecoin regulation bill 'GENIUS' could be voted on in the Senate as early as this week.

The GENIUS bill imposes a licensing requirement on stablecoin issuers, mandates 100% reserve backing, and requires information disclosure. If this bill passes, it will establish the first comprehensive regulatory framework for the issuance and distribution of stablecoins in the U.S.

The cryptocurrency industry is closely monitoring the outcome of this vote as it could influence the future global regulatory trends for stablecoins. Regulatory clarity is considered a key factor for institutional funds inflow and the expansion of mainstream adoption, so market reactions are expected to follow with sensitive changes.
