In Swedish politics, the issue of whether to include Bitcoin in foreign exchange reserves has become an official agenda.

On the 9th (local time), according to Bitcoinist, Rickard Nordin, a member of parliament from the Swedish Center Party, submitted a query to the country's Finance Minister asking whether the government intends to include Bitcoin in foreign exchange reserve assets.

Representative Nordin emphasized, "If the government considers Bitcoin as a component of foreign exchange reserve assets, a thorough evaluation of opportunities and risks must be conducted concurrently." However, instead of explicitly stating a position for or against Bitcoin, he focused on demanding the government to start the discussion.

This query is attracting attention as it coincides with recent movements in countries like the United States, El Salvador, and Argentina to use Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset. As global macroeconomic uncertainty increases and trust in interest rates and monetary policy shakes, the perspective of seeing Bitcoin as a digital alternative asset is spreading to the political realm.

It is still uncertain what official stance the Swedish Ministry of Finance will take on this. However, this query symbolically shows that cryptocurrency is gradually emerging as a topic that cannot be ignored in central bank and national asset management strategies.
