XRP, Ranked 2nd overtaking Ethereum on Japanese exchanges

In major Japanese cryptocurrency exchanges, it was found that in March, the trading volume of XRP surpassed Ethereum (ETH). On the 28th (local time), according to U Today, SBI VC Trade, a cryptocurrency exchange under Japan's financial giant SBI Holdings, announced that XRP surpassed Ethereum to become the second most traded cryptocurrency.

According to exchange statistics, Bitcoin (BTC) was the most traded asset, followed by XRP, and Ethereum had the third largest trading volume. Solana (SOL) and Dogecoin (DOGE) ranked 4th and 5th, respectively.

U Today analyzed that the long-standing strong presence of Ripple-related digital assets in Japan supported the increase in XRP trading. In particular, it explained that several subsidiaries of SBI have actively introduced XRP into various real-use fields such as cross-border payments, On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) solutions, and used car payments, which affected this trend.

Furthermore, the recent listing of XRP by Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Mercoin on the 24th was evaluated as a notable trend. U Today interpreted this as "another sign that XRP is being widely accepted by the general public."

As such, XRP is strengthening its influence by expanding beyond a simple investment asset to actual payments and financial infrastructure in the Japanese market.
