Despite recent news of negative growth in the first quarter, U.S. President Donald Trump presented a positive outlook, stating that the U.S. economy is merely in a transitional phase. In an NBC interview, he shared responsibility by saying, “The good part is the Trump economy, and the bad part is the Biden economy,” while emphasizing, “This is just a transition, and we will do fantastically.”
Amid ongoing concerns about economic instability, Trump dismissed worries over rising prices and reduced consumption. Through metaphors like “An 11-year-old girl doesn't need 30 dolls. 3 or 4 are enough,” and “You don't need 250 pencils. 5 are enough,” he conveyed the message that a shift to efficient consumption, rather than overspending, is needed.
He did not directly mention the price pressure from tariff policies, but his remarks are interpreted as being aware of recent concerns about household spending burdens in the U.S. Meanwhile, Trump defined the current economic situation as a ‘transition period’, reiterating his optimistic stance that under his leadership, the U.S. economy will strengthen and recover.
