Metaplanet, Bitcoin 555 Additional Purchase... Total Holdings 5,555

MetaPlanet, listed in Japan, is significantly increasing its Bitcoin holdings and accelerating its cryptocurrency-based asset strategy. The company announced on the 7th that it has recently purchased an additional 555 BTC, bringing the total holdings to 5,555.

The funds invested this time amount to approximately 7.6 billion Yen (about 74 billion Won), with an average purchase price per unit of approximately 12.91 million Yen (about 1.26 billion Won). The total amount MetaPlanet has invested in Bitcoin purchases so far is 71.7 billion Yen (about 700 billion Won), with an average unit price of approximately 12.9 million Yen per Bitcoin.

This aggressive buying is in line with MetaPlanet's medium-term plan announced in January 2025. The company has set goals to hold 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025 and 21,000 BTC by the end of 2026. To achieve this, it is employing a unique financial strategy, utilizing its own fund, Ev Fund, to issue zero-coupon bonds and raise capital through exercising stock options.

In fact, MetaPlanet is known to have carried out this additional purchase using funds secured from the issuance of the 11th ordinary bonds on April 16. The company plans to continue Bitcoin purchases flexibly according to market conditions.

Meanwhile, 'BTC Yield', used as a core metric by MetaPlanet, has shown significant growth in recent quarters. In the fourth quarter of last year, it was 309.8%, in the first quarter of this year it was 95.6%, and currently, it is 21%.
