Blackrock's spot Bitcoin ETF, IBIT, has surpassed SPDR Gold Trust (GLD), the world's largest gold spot ETF, in terms of net funds inflow this year. According to Coindesk, IBIT has attracted a total of 6.96 billion dollars in funds this year, ranking 6th in global ETF net inflows. Meanwhile, GLD recorded 6.5 billion dollars, ranking 7th.

Bloomberg's senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas commented, “The inflow trend of funds into IBIT is a positive signal for the long-term outlook of Bitcoin,” further analyzing, “The forecast that the asset size of BTC ETF will reach three times that of Gold ETF in 3 to 5 years adds credibility.” He evaluated it as an example of Bitcoin strengthening its position as a digital asset that can replace the traditional role of gold as a safe asset.

Meanwhile, Blackrock IBIT recently increased its holdings to 614,638 BTC (approximately 58.07 billion dollars) by purchasing an additional 41,452 BTC (approximately 3.92 billion dollars) over the past two weeks. There is growing expectation in the market that active inflows from institutional investors may act as a crucial driver for the rise in Bitcoin prices.
